2019 Rugby World Cup Japan

Lloyd provided accommodation and logistical support to 2019 RWC Japan Official Travel Agents from New Zealand, Australia, England and Argentina for their Management, Staff and in excess of 6,500 Supporters at the 12 RWC Host cities and venues throughout Japan. He provided over 4,500 hotel rooms, 150 apartments, OTA office space and facilities along with bilingual support staff and services.


2009 Louis Vuitton Pacific Series

In LV’s inaugural World Series of yacht match racing in Auckland, 10 syndicates raced in identical boats. Lloyd handled sales, marketing and procurement on behalf of the company staging the event.

  • Provided a complete retail precinct for Louis Vuitton, Alinghi, Oracle, Slam, Team Origin, Henri Lloyd, Line 7, Team NZ, Team Shosholoza, Luna Rossa, K Challenge and Damiani Italia.   Over 100,000 people visited this area during the 10 days of the event.
  • Provided Jacaranda with on-water hospitality (vessels, food, beverages, entertainment) for their clientele including Oracle, Team China, Alinghi and Louis Vuitton.

2007 America’s Cup Valencia, Spain

America’s Cup Management called Lloyd in to provide vessels for their top tier hospitality program “Foredeck Club” targeted at Heads of State and VVVIPs.  Lloyd identified potential boats, including characteristics, specifications, licensing and authorisation.  Handled sponsorship, personnel and administration including accreditation and immigration issues. Negotiated the charter agreements between ACM and the parties responsible for the boats.

  • These four vessels from France, Greece, U.A.E and Spain set the benchmark for VIP hosting at the 2007 America’s Cup.

During the 2003 America’s Cup in Auckland, Lloyd arranged an agreement for on-water hospitality between American Express and owners of a luxury catamaran.

  • Promoted hospitality services as a personal and business opportunity to Amex’s Centurion and Platinum cardholders – representing the top 1000 high net worth individuals in New Zealand.
  • Coordinated promotion, marketing and booking.  Managed daily operations.  Hired and managed operations personnel.
  • Earthling recognised as the premier vessel associated with the America’s Cup.  Over 3000 people enjoyed an unrivaled experience both on and off the water during the Louis Vuitton and America’s Cup.

2003 America’s Cup

Lloyd organised procurement of vessels nationally and internationally, handled logistics, compliance requirements and all on-water hospitality including provision of catering, staff and entertainment for clients including Alinghi, Louis Vuitton, One World, Victory Challenge, Air New Zealand, Fuji Xerox, American Express, Westpac and Telecom New Zealand.

He co-ordinated day to day operations for all his clients for the duration of the event.
